Eligibility Criteria for MCPS in Family Medicine

MCPS Family Medicine course aims at capacity building of practicing doctors and also for preparation of doctors who are out of practice for various reasons

Three years clinical experience required
Valid PMC certificate
MBBS from recognized medical institution
House job completion certificate

Assessment

Exam Structure

The examination for MCPS Family Medicine is conducted by College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP). The MCPS Family Medicine exam has two components.

Written

Paper I and Paper II examinations

Paper I and Paper II contain 100 MCQs each, to be completed in 2.5 hours with 30 minutes break in between.

Passing criteria:
Passing score is 75% aggregate of both papers.

Practical

TOACS with 12 clinical stations

Twelve Task-Oriented Assessment of Clinical Skills stations evaluate history taking, physical examination, communication, and procedural competence. You must achieve a minimum 60% aggregate across 12 stations practical components to pass.
